SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION
Scholarship Guidelines
All members, spouses of members, children, and grandchildren of Lodge members who are residents of the state of Maryland and American citizens may apply for this scholarship.
The value of the scholarship will be determined by the executive board and scholarship committee based on available funds and application status. The committee will review the application, transcripts from previous semesters and proof of enrollment for full-time status to determine eligibility.
Members of the Harford County Lodge #2464 OSDIA, their children, stepchildren, grandchildren, step-grandchildren, or great-grandchildren who are entering their freshman, sophomore, junior or senior year of college and are enrolled as a full-time student are eligible as long as the membership is in good standing for at least 6 months.
A member shall be deemed in good standing as long as he or she has paid the required dues and fees prescribed by the Lodge and meets all other membership requirements of the Lodge.
Social members and their relations may apply after 1 year of membership in good standing.
The Scholarships are available to individuals seeking a 2-year Associate’s Degree, 4-year Bachelor’s Degree or Vocational Certificate and are enrolled as a full-time student.
Scholarship recipients will be asked to receive the award in person at the Harford County Lodge meeting on the 4th Monday in June. They will also be invited to attend the Grand Lodge of Maryland’s Scholarship Award ceremony at an Iron Birds game at Ripken Stadium. (Date and time to be determined.)
The application must be completed by the applicant and submitted to the scholarship chair by the due date.
