#2464

The Sons and Daughters of Italy in America (OSDIA) is for people of any gender, age, race, religion, creed, orientation and profession. You don’t even have to be Italian to join! Whether you are of Italian heritage or simply have a love for all things Italian, you are welcome as a member.

We gather monthly to have fun, learn about the Italian Heritage, and plans events to raise funds for charities and our yearly scholarship program.

Come join the Harford County Lodge and get involved.

The Harford County Lodge hosts several annual events including a Spring Fling and Christmas Party.  The Lodge also participates annually in the Independence Day Parade in Havre de Grace.  In 2023, the Lodge participated in the first annual Maryland Italian Festival held in Bel Air.  The Lodge had a booth selling Italian merchandise such as t-shirts, hats and jackets.  The three-day event also served to promote the Lodge and enlist new members.

The Lodge reached out to the community for the first time in 2024, Lodge volunteers were able to visit the residents of Glen Meadows Retirement Community.  Celebrations were held for both Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.  The Lodge hopes to continue its efforts to be more involved in Harford County.

Monthly membership meetings can be informative, but they also can be fun. Members learned to play the game of Tombola, a game similar to bingo that was created in 1734 in Naples.  Teams of Lodge member participated in a meatball contest where members got to enjoy the meatballs and judges determined the winners.  The event was such a popular event that it will now be held annually.
